FamilieSCN2A collaborates with scientists and clinician researchers around the world to accelerate the study of SRDs.

Join the Global Network of SCN2A Scientists and Clinician Researchers

FamilieSCN2A brings together a global network of scientists and clinician researchers to collaborate, strategize, and learn.

Professionals who are interested in sharing and learning more about SCN2A are invited to join the network. To be added to the mailing list and receive invitations to attend quarterly science talks and other events, click below to email Dr. Karen Ho, VP of Research.

Research and Scientific Staff

The Foundation's Executive Director, VP of Research, and Chief Scientific Officer work closely with a broad global research network. This network includes recipients of the Action Potential and Hodgkin Huxley grants, the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board, as well as the consultants on the Team for Accelerating Science and Clinical Outcomes (TASCO).

Team for Accelerating Science and Clinical Outcomes (TASCO)

The Chief Scientific Officer leads subject matter expert consultants on the Team for Accelerating Science and Clinical Outcomes (TASCO). These professional leaders typically work full-time in industry, academia, or related professions, and contract with FamilieSCN2A on specific projects. TASCO enables the foundation to expand capacity and take on projects requiring specialized expertise, including writing scientific publications, designing and running research projects, hosting professional and layperson science talks, reviewing grant proposals, applying for grants for the foundation, and mentoring student interns.

Medical & Scientific Advisory Board

The Medical and Scientific Advisory Board (MSAB) is made up of leading scientists and clinician researchers who work closely with the Chief Scientific Officer, VP of Research, and Executive Director to guide Foundation efforts. Members of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board (MSAB) have deep understandings of the complexities of SCN2A and SCN2A-related disorders. This robust team has expertise in neurology, epilepsy, genetics, epidemiology, drug development, and other highly specialized fields.

Multidisciplinary Care Centers

The FamilieSCN2A Foundation has helped set up multidisciplinary care centers where people with SRDs can have access to the highest quality medical care and research opportunities. Please visit the SCN2A Multidisciplinary Centers page for more information.

SCN2A Research Award Grantees

Thanks to generous support from donors and grantors, The FamilieSCN2A Foundation is able to support groundbreaking scientific research.

Meet the experts and learn about their research to understand SCN2A and treat SRDs. Meet the experts and learn about their groundbreaking research to understand SCN2A and treat SRDs.

Academic Partners

The FamilieSCN2A Foundation partners with renowned academic institutions to work with their undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral fellows. These students, many of whom are interested in pursuing careers working with rare diseases, get genuine advocacy experience working with the SCN2A community. The foundation is grateful for their immense contributions!
